W. Barnett Pearce, PhD was the keynote speaker for the ICF 3rd Annual Coaching Research Symposium.

He said communication was what we were making at the moment through interaction. Isn’t that a powerful statement? So many times, we thought we were communicating; we actually either were venting or gossiping. Sometimes, we thought we were communicating our belief and we actually were enforcing our perspective to others and didn’t care to listen what others had to say.

When we think of what we are making during the interaction, we would be more open to other’s ideas while having courage to stand our own ground and we would empower each other with meaningful dialogs.

What are you making at the moment? Are you making division or separation? Or are you making connection and harmony?
