New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year! Ready to make a change? Happy with your progress?
Leadership development is my passion, and I’d like to share some thoughts coming to me today.
I read an article about an AI platform for leadership development. My thought – It might help in some way, like all of the posts and articles we read about how to be a good leader.
However, before a person can be guided in leadership development, they must be ready to learn, receive feedback, take risks, and try something new or do things differently. The principles can be applied to many other areas.
Readiness can be influenced by many factors, including the environment and systems one is in, time availability, internal narratives, external relationships, emotional stability, and physical health. It can be overwhelming to manage them all.
Therefore, I am proposing these questions to be answered before working on a New Year’s resolution or a change
- What do I care about?
- Am I ready physically and emotionally?
- What would be the small step I am ready to take?
Now, stand up, put your feet firmly on the ground to be connected with the earth, take a deep breath to open yourself up, and stay still for a minute to observe the breath in and out.
Ask these questions again.
Are you ready to make the changes you intended for the new year?
