Lichu, Spring, and Meditation
Today (2/3/25), Lichun (立春) marked the beginning of spring in the Chinese calendar. Based on Earth’s ecliptic plane degrees, it is the first day of the new year. This is a time to focus on balancing the body’s energy (Qi) and preparing for the seasonal transition.
My clients are busy professionals who crave vacations to reset and relax. Sometimes, however, vacations don’t serve the purpose. “Does a reset really take a vacation?” I asked.
A short meditation can help you reset. For example, you can experience a reset by closing your eyes and sensing the air in and out of your nose for a few minutes.
Spring is the season for new beginnings. “One ritual you can do to welcome the arrival of spring is to soak in the light of the morning sun to absorb the passive Qi of the new year.” ~ per Vicki Iskandar.
I have been meditating when the sun shines through my window and soaking myself in sunlight. I enjoy the practice, and it does raise my clarity and vitality!
