Leadership
In recent coaching sessions, I observed different narratives about leadership. I thought now would be a good time to reflect on them, especially during this presidential election season.
Leaders can have official titles or be those who lead without authority. Leadership can be found in each of us at different moments while leading conversations, movements, actions, and teams.
The leadership of those with authority is critical because it can touch many lives and create a lasting impact. Similarly, the leadership of each of us is crucial because the cumulative effects of our leadership are powerful.
We should always be in touch with our own leadership when something needs to be addressed or taken care of. Sometimes, this means providing an observation or initiating a discussion without knowing how others will perceive it. Sometimes, it means taking risks and being vulnerable to feedback or being put down.
Leadership will be sharpened when practices are in action.
