We tend to want to change our partner, children, bosses and subordinates into someone we want them to be. We have expectations towards the people close to us. At the same time, we are learning that we can never change others. The only person we can change is ourselves.
One thing we seldom hear is our ability to develop others. Developing others means to empower others so that they show up as who they are. We all have ability to develop each other by listening, accepting and empowering each other. I believe our ability to develop others based on how clear we know who we are, how much we accept ourselves, trust ourselves and see the extraordinary of ourselves. When we are happy with ourselves, we can empower others to show up.
Marianne Williamson’s quote – "As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
